Pianist, Composer, Educator, and Cultural promoter.

 

Classically trained ( National School of Music in Mexico City ) hard-core Latin pianist who loves jazz, Alina has been performing for more than 35 years.

As a composer, she is influenced by the Latin music tradition yet contemporary. She writes music for Ireson, her band as well as music for theatre and dance companies. 

Also a creative educator, Alina studied musical education in Lyon, France, passionate about sharing knowledge across musical genres.

 In 2013, Alina was awarded the highest recognition given by the Mexican Government, the Ohtli Medal, in recognition of her passion for disseminating Mexican Culture and the Arts worldwide.

Constantly learning, Alina sought to expand her musical knowledge at LA SALLE College of the Arts by pursuing a degree in jazz music, graduating with honors in 2014 and a Master’s degree in Arts and Cultural Management in 2018.

In 2019 she founded the Singapore Latin American Arts and Cultural Center intending to create cross-cultural interchange. 

2020 and 2021 during the pandemic the Latin Cultural Center organized more than 500 concerts online with musicians from Singapore and all over the world.

In 2022 she played her piano solo composition, a Latin suite at Esplanade Concert Hall. 

In 2023 she collaborated with Vamp Productions on the organization of the Latin fest held at Marina Bay Sands and in 2024 she was given a residency to compose music for the Tropic exhibition at the National Gallery Singapore.

She currently teaches piano at international schools as well as performing in clubs and festivals in the region.
